Travel and premises are a major cost and carbon source for
businesses
The UK working population travels billions of miles each year
only to spend time in the office using computers and telephones.
Think about it
..
GreenWorking is a flexible working strategy to help improve
the way that businesses operate through the adoption of new
ways of working. GreenWorking takes advantage of advances
in technology to improve staff productivity and effectiveness;
whilst at the same time lessening the environmental impact
of the workplace and lowering the overall carbon footprint
of an organisation thus creating a more sustainable business.
In essence, GreenWorking encourages you to think about how
your business operates today and allow your mind to escape
the straightjacket of traditional "business rules"
about when, where and how staff perform their roles and tasks.
Why change to GreenWorking?
The technologies and methods used by Interchange today demonstrate
the variety of options now available to improve business sustainability
at the same time as reducing costs and improving productivity.
If you want to know more about how a GreenWorking strategy
can help your business, Interchange can probably help
you. After all, we've been working for over 30 years to help
businesses understand how they can improve their processes;
productivity; customer service; and employee effectiveness
by making best use of today's remote and mobile working technologies.
What about Interchange?
Interchange
started adoption of a GreenWorking strategy back in 2007.
The transformation started with the closure of one of our
main offices and transferring roughly 45% of the company's
workforce to flexible working. Employees were given the option
of relocating or working from home (with a PC and broadband
internet) and communicating via a BlackBerry wireless handheld
device for mobile phone, email and data. Significantly, most
of our employees opted to work remotely.
Today, we are a virtually 100% flexible working company -
so we know what we are talking about as well as the route
that needs to be taken to implement a successful Greenworking
flexible work strategy.
